To get to know another part of Tasmania, for this visit we flew into Launceston. Qantas don't fly direct Sydney - Launceston (although Jetstar does), but it gave us an excuse to have a couple of nights in Melbourne, to take in another birthday dinner at Maha
After 3 nights in an enormous apartment (41 on York) in Launceston, we headed East and then travelled down the east coast, staying a couple of nights in each of Binalong Bay, Friendly Beaches (near Coles Bay), and Spring Beach (near Orford), before cutting across via Richmond and Hobart to Cygnet.
One of the many highlights on this trip was a day cruise from Coles Bay, which took us round the remarkable cliffs of the Freycinet Peninsula to iconic Wineglass Bay, where we dropped anchor for lunch, washed down, of course, by a glass of bubbles.
